Atherstone House is one of the four residences that form Solomon Kalushi Mahlangu Hall. We are a vibrant female residence in the heart of campus, just a short walk from the Library, most lecture venues, and the CPU. Atherstone House accommodates 136 students from different countries, with 100 single rooms and 18 double rooms.
Atherstone House aims to offer a supportive and enriching environment that promotes academic success and personal growth. As the Atherstone community, we are intentional about creating a home away from home, to instill the values of Ubuntu and sisterhood amongst students.
The Warden of Atherstone House is Miss Unathi Bontsi. She is responsible to the Hall Warden for the welfare and discipline of the students in the house and the maintenance of the fabric of her house and its moveable assets. She has an open-door policy encouraging students to just pop in for a chat and is always ready to listen. The Warden is also supported by driven Sub-Wardens and a House committee that plays a part in creating a family in the House.
