Short Biography:

I’m a researcher at the Centre for Water Resources Research, 欧洲杯足球网_外围买球app推荐-投注|官网 of KwaZulu-Natal, and deputy director for the ARUA Water Centre of Excellence, as well as a research associate at Institute for Water Research, Rhodes 欧洲杯足球网_外围买球app推荐-投注|官网. I am a sustainability scientist striving to bridge academic disciplines, diverse knowledge systems and the science-policy-practice spheres to work towards sustainable solutions to complex challenges. My academic journey has been devoted to building my own, and others’, capacity and capabilities in both the intellectual advancement of, and more crucially, the engaged and embedded practice of, transformative social-ecological systems research. Being involved in, and leading, multiple transdisciplinary projects in South Africa and across Africa, has made me appreciate the effort and precision it takes to co-develop shared systems understandings, joint solutions and collaborative actions in addressing a number of sustainability challenges. These include water scarcity and (in)security, climate change adaptation, natural and water resource management and governance, biodiversity conservation and gender inclusion and equity, in South Africa, Malawi, Tanzania, Senegal, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Nigeria and Uganda.
